This is my favorite burger recipe - added sweet potato buns, because #health

I have never been the type of person who goes out to eat and thinks to order a burger - don't ask me why, I have just always thought, if it's something I can make easily at home, I'd rather order something else (although if you are out and want a burger in Minneapolis, Parlour or Lynhall are the spots!). So for years, I have been perfecting my burger recipe, and this is the grand winner. Added sweet potato buns to be healthier, caramelized onions, cause YUM and some grated parm (omit for dairy free).

“I have never been the type of person who goes out to eat and thinks to order a burger - don't ask me why, I have just always thought, if it's something I can make easily at home, I'd rather order something else”

Below I go over your shopping list and I breakdown the specific recipe and the steps to making these delicious burgers! Serves 4. Recipe is gluten free and can be made dairy free.

Ingredients

For the burgers:

* 1.5 lb of organic, grass fed ground beef

* 1.5 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

* 1.5 tbsp of Dijon

* 2 tbsp fresh garlic, minced

* 1.5 tbsp onion powder, Italian seasoning, cracked pepper

* 1 tbsp pink Himalayan salt

* 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

* Topped with caramelized onions (1 white onion, sliced and cooked with balsamic)

For the buns:

* 1 large sweet potato, sliced into thick circle buns

* 1 tbsp olive oil, drizzled

* 1 tbsp pink Himalayan salt and pepper

--- Cooking Steps ---

  1. Mix all the burger ingredients together and then form into 1 inch burger patties. Pour some oil on a cast iron pan and let it heat up. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side. Pre-heat the oven to 400 and then stick the pan in for 3-6 minutes, depending on how cooked you want yours (I went with about 4 minutes and they were medium well).

  2. Slice the sweet potato into circles, drizzle with olive oil and season, and then cook on the cast iron for 3-4 minutes on each side, until crispy.

  3. Add the caramelized onions and the grated Parmesan and serve.
